FEATURED PROJECTS

This apartment was a full demolition and re-space planning project with the design intent to maximise the amount of natural light and create large open plan living spaces. It required brand new joinery, fittings and fixtures, flooring and furniture throughout. Taking cues from Scandinavian interiors, the finishes are predominately black and white with the introduction of the steel & glass screens to allow light to filter through. While the budget was modest, the transformation was immeasurable.
We completed the interior design and décor of the Concierge entrance area for the residential development, 169 on Main. The developers wanted the user to experience a sense of luxury on arrival, which is exactly what we set out to do. The space celebrates local South African designers- through the curation of art and furniture- with accents of burnt oranges and blues forming the complementary palette.
Working on this residential refurbishment was pure bliss. The clients vision and my own aligned perfectly and we challenged each room to create a unique look and feel yet remain connected to the rest of the home. With an open brief and access to amazing local designs, Dot Designs combined contrast and pattern to create layers and depth to each space.
Dot Designs was tasked with converting a previously unloved office reception into a bright vibrant, fully functional coffee shop in the heart of Cape Town. Guided by the vision of the owner to create a shop with bright bold colours- moving away from the dark timber and steel trend of coffee retailers in the area, the space required a complete overhaul.
Dot Designs was tasked with fully furnishing, decorating and styling a contemporary two bedroom apartment in the new 169 on Main luxury residential development. The result is a space that epitomizes ‘luxury living’ where custom designed furniture pieces sit effortlessly in a fully considered interior, set against the backdrop of Lion’s Head.
Dot Designs, in collaboration with Bone Studio, are the appointed Interior Designers for residential development, 169 on Main. 50 apartments span across 11 stories, with each apartment fully conceptualized from space planning and finishes selections through to joinery design and detailing.
